Took advice from WRXforS cience on some numbers for the weekend. Magnetic vent cover sheets. $10 at the depot for homes gets me enough material for 3 sets of numbers. Sheets come in white, so I had to color them so they’ll stand out on the broad canvas of white the van has.
Nice x2
Speaking of broad canvas, eBay found me a set of retro brush decals. I’m going to try my luck and hope these still hold well. Box looked to be 25+ years old. First time applying decals requiring an “applicator” formula (water, rubbing alcohol, and dish soap works). Set was only $20, so I won’t be too heart broken if they don’t work.

I have those magnetic vent covers and yet it had not occurred to me that they were a good cheap source of large magnetic sheet.
A handy tip for later *locks that away in his brain*

I’ve seen rolls of this stuff go for $20-$30 for about the same amount. They come in 8x15 inch pieces at 3 pieces per package. I t’ s a great proportional size for numbers. Easy to cut with any sharp object.

Neat. I noticed retro decals are coming back. This company is having flashbacks to the ‘70s:
Yes, that’s color-shifting glitter!

Good call on the vent covers. I’d never thought of that.
Loving the retro brush graphics! The “ applicator formula” can be used with a variety of stickers and such. In fact Honda recommended a very similar formula to put the stickers on the Repsol. Gets the stickers where you want them and prevents air bubbles. It’s good stuff.

Always was a fan of the retro colors. How can one not like these?!
I don’t know how many more times I’ll be able to rallycross again this season, so dropping decent money on a set of numbers just wasn’t feasible. Cheapest I could find was $30 per side online. Or $30 total for DIY parts and a can of paint.
